order clomid uk For those of you who came to Missions Fest last year, you might remember a story that Todd Ahrend told about a Chinese international student. I don’t remember all the details, so I’m going to share a short version of the story to try and keep it as accurate as possible.
There was a Chinese international student who came to the States in order to pursue a degree. After four years it was time for him to go back to China to start his career. He packed everything up and was searching for a ride to the airport. He was able to find an American student who was willing to take him.
As he was loading up his luggage the American student noticed that he had a lot of large bags which prompted him to ask, “what is all of this?” The Chinese student answered, “These are all the gifts I brought from China to give to the friends I would make in America”. For four long years this student had hoped he might make a friend. Not once did he step foot into an American’s home. He left as lonely as the first day he arrived and worst of all no one told him the good news of Jesus.
The nations are coming to us! Refugees, international students, and migrants. The Lord has opened a wide door for us to be effective in reaching peoples of all nations, tribes, and tongues.
There are many ways we can get involved in reaching out to the nations here in the Quad Cities. One in particular though has presented itself front and center at at a local college which has 50 + nations represented amongst the students and staff.
Being an international student can be very difficult. They are often without vehicles, have no family or friends nearby, and they are experiencing culture shock. This of course leads to a lot of loneliness and depression among international students.
How can we help? How can we make sure that the story shared above doesn’t happen on our watch?
Pastor Matt and I recently visited the a local college to meet with the Program Director. We thought it would be hard to make inroads at this very secular college but to our surprise, we found out that the Director is a strong believer!
She shared that she has had zero partnerships from area churches so far, and would love to have Wildwood partner with them!
Needless to say, the door is wide open for anyone who is interested in connecting with the international students at this college!
There are many needs and ways to get involved! Here are just a few . . .
Anyone is welcome to get involved! The first step is to fill out their online form and they will send you an email to schedule a training for you to attend.
Then you can let them know how you would like to be involved using your specific gifts and abilities. Whether that be bringing snacks, hanging out with or mentoring students, teaching, or joining in on their events, etc. There is no specific time commitment required to join in!

Josh has been on staff at Wildwood since July 2019. He and his wife, Delilah, enjoy exploring new towns and discovering their unique offerings. You can often find him sitting around a table playing board games with friends.
