buy cephalon modafinil The only silver bullet I know of if someone wants to be a better evangelist is to love God more! It’s true, being successful in sharing the good news with others doesn’t hinge on methods, training, or anything else for that matter. Those things might help and be of use, but Loving God is what makes or breaks our evangelistic efforts.
The more love we have for God, the more our speech, conduct, and overall lifestyle will reflect that. When we share Jesus out of a heart of love for God our witness becomes authentic and people can see how much the gospel means to us.
If, however, we share out of religious obligation with empty hearts our testimony will be devoid of life.
The number one step in being an effective evangelist is loving God!
It’s a simple reality to understand, but loving God is difficult to do which is why so many of us struggle with evangelism. That’s why we need to remember that our love for God doesn’t come from within ourselves, it comes from God himself as 1st John 4 teaches us; God is love and we love God because he first loved us. So to love God more, we have to spend time with God who is love!
God has given us three primary ways to be in his presence and be filled with his love. His word, his people, and prayer. How is your time with God in his word and prayer? Are you regularly connecting with God’s people? Are you finding yourself distracted from God’s love by the things of this world? We all have room to grow in these areas. Praise the Lord, that however you answered these questions, God is always ready to share more of his love with his children. We need only repent of our sins and turn back to him. As we seek God’s presence in these three ways we will be filled more and more with his great love!
"Our greatest evangelistic tool is love because it is what motivates us to seek out opportunities to share Jesus with people."
1st John 4:20 makes it clear that someone cannot love God and hate people. If we love God we are going to love people. None of us ever perfectly loves God, but as we grow in our love for him our heart for others grows as well. Our greatest evangelistic tool is love because it is what motivates us to seek out opportunities to share Jesus with people. Not only that but when we love, people experience the love of God through us and will be more receptive to hearing the good news! What an incredible reality, we don’t have to be expert theologians or go through a hundred different evangelism classes to be fruitful for the gospel, rather we can love God and abide in Christ, and then we will bear much fruit!
To summarize: Growing in theological understanding and gaining practical biblical tips in evangelism are helpful and should be pursued, but at the end of the day, someone who knows the bible backward and forward won’t be a good gospel witness if they don’t have a heart that treasures and loves God. The thing to remember is this: Love God and Love people, these are the keys to effective evangelism.
