Prigen In Christ, we receive a new identity. That doesn’t stop the enemy from throwing our old identity back in our face, though. It’s in those moments we need to remind ourselves of who we are and where we stand. We read of this identity change and positional change in Romans 8:4-11.
crossly There is no two-class Christianity. Every single Christian has to fight the flesh and depend on the Holy Spirit every day. If there were a two-class system, the Apostle Paul would definitely be in the elite status. Yet, in this passage he shares his own experiences with fighting the flesh. If Paul had to fight the flesh, how can any of us imagine we don’t?
Have you ever come to a place in your life that you’ve cried out to the Lord in desperation, “Why won’t you take this sinful desire from me? Why do I keep going back to it?” If so, you can resonate with the war within that Paul describes in this passage in Romans 7. Christian, you’re going to wrestle with the sin nature until Jesus comes back. This is not an excuse to sin, but a call to fight the flesh and hope in Christ!
Death releases us from the law. It’s true in marriage, its true in salvation. We died to the law and are bound to Christ. But what does that mean? Check out this message on Romans 7:1-6!
Sin feels good for a little while. Then it leaves us feeling empty and ashamed. Ultimately it brings death. But God gives us life eternal through Jesus Christ our Lord! Are you thirsting for life? Come drink of living water!
