Bernau bei Berlin There is One God and one way to salvation – faith in Jesus Christ. We are saved by faith alone, but saving faith does not remain alone. It will produce life change! Join us on our second-part of a two-part sermon, “By Faith, Alone.”
Did you know that you have nothing to do with your salvation? Paul tells us that one is justified (declared righteous) by faith, alone. There is nothing you or I can point to and say, “Well, I had to…” Nope. In Christ, sinners are the unwitting and undeserving recipients of God’s grace and mercy. He makes a legally binding and permanent declaration that the sinner is righteous simply by faith in His Son. Wow!
How is it possible that sinful people can have a right relationship with a holy God? Check out what Paul has to say in Romans 3:21-26! Learn why it’s called the Gospel, which means “Good News.”
Think you’re a pretty good person? Paul doesn’t think so! In this week’s passage in Romans, Paul issues the death knell to any hope you or I might have of standing before God on our own virtue. This is so necessary because unless we understand the severity of our disease, we won’t accept the cure. Watch as we unpack Romans 3:9-20.
As you turn in your bible to Romans 3:1-8 I want to read for you the words of the Apostle Peter.
“just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures.” 2 Peter 3:15-16
Hopefully by now you have heard the phrase “every member a missionary” or you’ve seen the hashtag #everymemberamissionary, and you’re asking yourself, “How can I be a faithful missionary?” If you’re not asking that question, I want to invite you to do so.
