In Christ we have much more to be grateful for than we could ever have to be worried about. The death of Jesus is all the evidence we need to know that God’s disposition toward us is that of love. When the circumstances of our lives cause us to doubt that, we can remind ourselves that we have been made right with God and it’s all an act of His grace. Sometimes we need to rehearse the Gospel in our own minds instead of our woes.
Where, O death, is your victory? Where is your sting? It is gone forever because Jesus has defeated death! The celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ is more than religion. It is restoration of what was lost in the Garden of Eden, victory. Do you hope in Christ for eternal life? If so, the resurrection ought to prompt you to steadfastness and Gospel activity. If you do not, we would love to help you find hope in Him!
One thing we know about you, you’ve had hard times. You’ve suffered. You’ve experienced pain and heartbreak. You are not alone, and you are not without hope! Romans 5:3-5 is unequivocal: suffering produces hope in the life of a Christian. Whether we choose to allow it to happen or not is another story. What is your take on suffering and Christian hope? There are two more consequences of having been justified by faith in Jesus Christ, access to His grace, and hope of His glory. That sinners have been ushered into the very presence of the living God and have cause to hope in His glory rather than we terrified of it, is evidence of this amazing grace of which we sing!
Those whom the Bible says were at one time at war with God and objects of His infinite wrath have come to be at peace with God. How is that possible? Through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ!
