Wisdom Without Reproach
Korba The goal of the Christian life, James says verse 4, is that we be perfect (or mature) and complete, lacking in nothing spiritually. This is the effect of trials in the life of a faithful follower of Jesus. But to turn trials into toughness, the one thing you need to not lack is wisdom. Trials do not automatically make us tough. Some trials only make us bitter, angry, lonely, burned out, or selfish. Navigating through trials faithfully is what makes us spiritually tough. But navigating faithfully requires that we possess wisdom from above.
